Most of the boating public have their personal horror stories of some of the service they've received from the industry. Clark's Marine may well be the exception. In many years of boat ownership, leaving wakes on both salt and fresh water, I've never encountered better service. Their product line is exemplary, but it's the service that truly sets them apart. For a number of years I had only purchased maintenance equipment for boats bought elsewhere, but even when I only needed advice the personnel, including the owner, were ready to help any way they could. When it came time to buy a new (and expensive) family boat I couldn't imagine a better place to go than Clark's. Even when they suggested going with the revolutionary Evinrude E-tec (no more inboards for me) they were spot on. Though probably not policy, when was the last time you heard of a deal consummated on a handshake? Like the governor of California once said, "I'll be back."

• Pros: Service, Product, Attentiveness after the sale, Closed one deal with a handshake. Ayuh.
• Cons: Fuhgeddaboudit!
